Our world and nature in general can be understood through patterns. The golden spiral, and Pi are two classic examples of numerical patterns which are expressed physically through architecture, the animal world, and also in the human body. The pattern of a wave in the ocean is a pattern that we can mimic within our form. The pattern of a circle, rectangle, or square can be used for the construction of an object or an asana (posture).
In a postural diagnostic context it is important to look at how one part of the body such as the foot may hold patterns within its structure and imprinting that are repeated across the body.
Using specific principles of alignment we will gain a better understanding of ourselves, others, and our world in a reasonably objective manner.
