Introduction to the Natural Dynamics Method

Join us for a two hour introduction to Natural Dynamics. The Natural Dynamics method draws from practices that have helped humans to evolve in the natural world. We interact with rocks, trees, the soft grass and other features of the environment to challenge our bodies to become strong and resilient. In learning the Natural Dynamics method we get in touch with physical attributes that have helped us become the most dynamic movers on the planet.

During this two hour workshop you will be guided through a warm up that includes yoga postures, joint mobility and a short run and prepares the body to be supple and energetic. Our technical work will involve learning jump, vault, climb and balance in diverse natural scenarios. Each technique will be taught in a step by step progression that emphasizes safety and the ability to make mistakes without injury. Finally we will learn simple interactive games that allow us to exhibit the skills that we’ve developed together with our community.

Brett and Emile, the teachers of Natural Dynamics, intend for this workshop to be introductory so no prerequisite training is necessary, we do however ask that anyone attending be comfortable going from sitting on the ground to standing up with ease and is capable of running .5 miles at a moderate pace. Anyone who does not feel up that but is interested should get in touch for other opportunities to learn.

Cost for the workshop is $25 for general public and $15 for YMS Tribe Members.  To learn more about membership visit
