Yoga has become a popular recommendation for medical practitioners to prescribe to their patients as a way to reduce pain and improve overall function. However, not all yoga classes are made equal. 20+ chaturangas are not exactly the answer to someone with wrist or shoulder issues, especially if they are taught incorrectly or in at a pace that is erratic. This 2-hour workshop will focus on functional approaches to a vinyasa class, particularly, the Sun Salutations. You will learn how to refine and build awareness through specific muscle contractions in order to resolve pain in the shoulders and low back. This workshop is recommended for yoga instructors and yogis alike.
